About the NHS England Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme
The NHS Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme (T2DR), formerly NHS Low Calorie Diet Programme, is a 12-month, evidence-based lifestyle change service available to eligible referred people living with type 2 diabetes in Lancashire & South Cumbria.
Delivered remotely by Liva, it’s based on the DiRECT study* which showed this approach could help people lose weight, improve their diabetes control, reduce diabetes-related medication and even achieve remission.
Someone completing the NHS-funded, 12-month pilot can reduce their weight by up to 10-15% of their starting weight**.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be on the programme. The first 12 weeks was brilliant, I did not feel hungry at all and the weeks passed really quickly”
